A nice surprise for a lucky lady

This rose was a commission for a birthday present to a lucky mum in Queensland from her kids.  Her daughter Pam entrusted me with intuitively selecting something special for her mum, and I hear she loves it.

Here is what Pam said in her letter. 

A huge Thank You to you  for painting a wonderful canvas called, ‘Tropical Sunrise’ for my mum in Queensland.

I am glad I left the decision of what to paint entirely in your hands.  When mum unwrapped it, she thought it was so beautiful, she was, for the first time in her life, lost for words and had tears in her eyes.  It now hangs proudly in her living room where she admires it on a daily basis.

"I would recommend to anyone who is thinking of getting Bernadette to do a painting for them or someone else, definitely do it. You will not be disappointed."

The message which came to me on completion is very fitting after a few months break.  I hope it resonates with someone out there.

Inspiration met

Dropped in to the gorgeous gorgeous Catherine Abel studio/gallery in Trentham on the weekend.  Catherine paints the most exquisite  and sensual art deco portrait style paintings.  She was very generous with her time, passing on some words of wisdom from her 15 years experience in the art world.  Thanks Catherine.
